The easiest way to choose a FlockYou detector is to decide how you want to receive alerts. Choose Atom Lite for visual feedback, Audio for sound-only feedback, or Pro for both LED and audio alerts. All three are sold preloaded with firmware and need external USB-C power.
These are passive wireless awareness tools. They look for supported Wi-Fi indicators associated with Flock cameras; they do not prevent a camera from recording a license plate. This guide compares the current STS Collective listings, not a measured detection-range test.

Choose Atom Lite for a visible, simple setup
The Atom Lite is a practical starting point if you plan to keep the detector on a desk or another visible surface. Its RGB indicator provides scanning and detection status without a screen or phone app for standalone use. Choose Audio when you want sound-only feedback
The audio-alert model has no LED indicator. The current listing describes a startup sound, chirps for a new suspected device and periodic feedback while a suspected device remains in range. That makes it an option when looking at a light would be inconvenient.

Choose Pro when you want visual and audible alerts
FlockYou Pro combines the LED indicator with an onboard speaker on the M5Stack Atom Echo platform. It is the straightforward choice if you want a light you can check and an audible cue when your attention is elsewhere.
Choose Pro for that feedback combination. The product name alone is not evidence of longer detection range or a higher detection rate than the other models. Placement, radio conditions and firmware support still matter. View the FlockYou Pro listing.
What to check before ordering
- Power and cable: Plan for an external USB power source and a USB-C cable. Pro and Audio list the cable as not included; Atom Lite says it may not be included unless stated.
- Placement: Avoid metal containers and heavily shielded compartments. Choose a position where you can notice the intended alerts.
- Firmware: Use the update instructions for your exact board. Supported signatures can change as camera hardware and firmware change.
- Standalone versus dashboard use: Basic alerts do not require a cloud account or subscription. Dashboard workflows may require additional software and a compatible firmware configuration.
What an alert can tell you
An alert indicates that the device observed a supported wireless signature. It does not prove the identity or exact location of a camera. A quiet detector does not prove that no cameras are nearby. Range and reliability depend on obstructions, signal strength, congestion, configuration and the signatures your firmware supports.
Common buying questions
Do I need to buy the most expensive model?
No. Choose the alert style you will actually use. If visual feedback meets your needs, the Atom Lite may be enough.
Does FlockYou block surveillance?
No. It provides awareness through passive observation; it does not jam, disable or connect to detected cameras.
