FlockYou Display brings the open-source FlockYou ALPR awareness platform to a larger, easier-to-read 2-inch IPS display.

Built by STS Collective on the M5Stack Basic ESP32 platform and shipped with FlockYou firmware preinstalled, this model passively monitors nearby 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi activity for characteristics associated with supported automated license plate reader systems.

When matching activity appears, FlockYou provides immediate information through its full-color display and integrated speaker.

The larger 320 × 240 screen provides more room for detection details, device information, status data, and the FlockYou interface than our compact FlockYou Mini.

Larger 2-Inch FlockYou Display

The defining feature of this model is its larger 2-inch IPS screen.

With a 320 × 240 resolution and up to 853-nit rated maximum brightness, the display gives the FlockYou interface significantly more screen space than smaller ESP32 devices.

View monitoring status, detection information, wireless identifiers, confidence information, runtime data, and other information directly on the device.

The larger format also makes this model well suited for vehicle installations, desks, field kits, demonstrations, training, and research.

Open-Source FlockYou Firmware

FlockYou Display ships with the STS Collective FlockYou ESP32 firmware installed and configured.

The project uses passive Wi-Fi monitoring and multiple detection methods to identify wireless characteristics associated with supported ALPR infrastructure.

How FlockYou Works

FlockYou monitors publicly observable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi activity and evaluates available indicators associated with supported ALPR systems.

The firmware supports several detection methods, including:

• Wi-Fi frame analysis
• Manufacturer OUI matching
• Associated SSID patterns
• Wireless signature matching
• Multi-address matching
• Confidence-based detection logic

Combining multiple indicators helps FlockYou distinguish relevant activity from unrelated Wi-Fi devices operating nearby.

Visual and Audible Detection Alerts

FlockYou Display provides both visual and audible feedback.

The integrated 2-inch screen presents detection information directly on the device, while the built-in speaker provides an additional alert mechanism.

This makes the larger FlockYou particularly useful when mounted in a vehicle or placed somewhere you do not constantly watch the display.

Three Physical Controls

Three integrated buttons provide direct interaction with the FlockYou interface.

Passive by Design

Expandable ESP32 Hardware
