Eye Spy Pro

Passive Surveillance Detector with LED + Audio Alerts for BLE, WiFi, ALPR, Body Cameras, AirTags, Drones, and Privacy Awareness

The Eye Spy Pro is a compact passive surveillance awareness device built on the M5Stack Atom Echo ESP32 platform and preloaded with Eye Spy firmware. It continuously monitors nearby Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and WiFi activity for signatures associated with surveillance equipment, tracking devices, ALPR systems, body cameras, drones, hidden cameras, and other wireless technologies.

Unlike traditional RF detectors, Eye Spy Pro analyzes known wireless identifiers, vendor signatures, Bluetooth services, and WiFi characteristics to provide fast situational awareness without pairing, connecting, or transmitting data to nearby devices.

The onboard RGB LED and integrated speaker provide instant visual and audible alerts with no phone, screen, cloud account, or subscription required.

Available exclusively in white.

This is a passive awareness and research tool only. It does not jam, disable, bypass, interfere with, authenticate to, or connect to any nearby device.

The firmware is based on the open-source Eye Spy project.

  • Persistent unknown Bluetooth devices

Multiple independent detections increase the overall confidence score, helping distinguish isolated signals from environments with numerous surveillance-related devices.

Hardware Details

Based on the M5Stack Atom Echo ESP32 IoT Development Kit featuring:

  • ESP32-PICO-D4 dual-core processor
  • 2.4 GHz WiFi
  • Bluetooth Low Energy
  • Built-in antenna
  • USB-C power and programming
  • RGB NeoPixel LED
  • Integrated speaker
  • Programmable button
  • 4 MB flash memory
  • Compact white enclosure

How to Use

Connect the detector to any USB-C power source such as a vehicle adapter, power bank, laptop, or wall adapter.

After startup, the device performs a brief boot sequence before entering continuous monitoring mode.

The LED continuously displays the current awareness level while the speaker provides audible alerts whenever confidence rises to an elevated level.

For best results:

  • Place the device where wireless signals are unobstructed.
  • Avoid placing it inside metal containers or heavily shielded compartments.
  • Use while walking, driving, traveling, surveying locations, or conducting privacy research.
  • Treat detections as awareness indicators rather than definitive identification.
  • Confirm observations through visual inspection or additional research when appropriate.

Detection performance depends on distance, antenna orientation, surrounding wireless activity, environmental conditions, and changes made by device manufacturers.

Important Notes

Detection relies on passive observation of publicly transmitted Bluetooth and WiFi characteristics. Results vary depending on radio conditions, device configuration, firmware updates, wireless congestion, and environmental factors.

This product is intended for lawful privacy awareness, wireless research, education, and security research.

It does not transmit Bluetooth scan requests, pair with nearby devices, interfere with wireless communications, or connect to detected equipment.
